Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser:

Changeling (Order of Darkness, Book 1)
by Philippa Gregory
To Be Released May 29, 2012
From Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing

Isolde looked at her brother, her dark blue eyes narrowing as she understood what this meant. "A dowry as small as this will mean that no one else will offer for me," she said. "You know that. And yet you did not ask for more? You did not warn Father that this would leave me without any prospects at all? And Father? Did he want to force me to marry the prince?"
I received Changeling from Simon & Schuster Canada through Goodreads for review this past week. Isn't that a gorgeous cover? I started reading it two nights ago, and it's been so good thus far! It's been a while since I've read historical fiction, and Changeling has reminded me why I enjoyed it to much. The above quote is taken from the passage where Isolde, one of the protagonists, discovers that she has to choose between forced marriage or a life of celibacy. I won't give away anything else! :)

Share your Teaser Tuesdays with me below! Happy reading!

  2. Like Frishawn, I hadn't heard of this book. I'm suprised! The cover is lovely and it sounds good. Loving all the forced marriage stuff haha! I don't normally read much of anything besides fantasy, but every now and then a historical fiction grabs my attention and this one definitely sounds interesting. Can't wait to hear your review on it when you're done! :)
