In My Mailbox (6) | April 8, 2012

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme held at The Story Siren. You simply share the books that you purchased, borrowed, or received in the past week! :)

Before we get started, Happy Easter to everyone celebrating! I hope the Easter Bunny was good to you and your bellies and that you take some time to relax with your family and friends!

Here are the books:

Hello Kitty made an appearance in my Easter basket this morning, so I thought it only fitting she be in the photo as well!

First up, two of the books I mentioned earlier this week in Book Bargains

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
The Infernal Devices #1
When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London’s Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick
Hush, Hush #2
Nora Grey’s life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn’t pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it: a mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But, despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He’s more elusive than ever and even worse, he’s started spending time with Nora’s arch-enemy, Marcie Millar.

This the sequel to Howl's Moving Castle! I loved the Studio Ghibli film, and my younger brother loved the novel, so I'm really looking forward to this follow up!

House of Many Ways by Diana Wynne Jones
Castle #3
When Charmain Baker agreed to look after her great-uncle’s house, she thought she was getting blissful, parent-free time to read. She didn’t realize that the house bent space and time, and she did not expect to become responsible for an extremely magical stray dog and a muddled young apprentice wizard... And where Sophie is, the great Wizard Howl and fire demon Calcifer won’t be far behind. How did respectable Charmain end up in such a mess, and how will she get herself out of it?

I have to read this before I see the movie! :) This was also on my Book Bargains list!
The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks
After U.S. Marine Logan Thibault finds a photograph of a smiling young woman buried in the dirt during his tour of duty in Iraq, he experiences a sudden streak of luck — winning poker games and even surviving deadly combat. Only his best friend, Victor, seems to have an explanation for his good fortune: the photograph — his lucky charm.

So excited for these reads! Please share with me your recent book hauls in the comments section below!

 Happy Reading!! ~
